Google and Trademark-rights

News about the use of trademarks on Google. Due to a European Court ruling, Google will implement a new policy in Europe starting September 14.

de Merkplaats has contact with Google about the illegal usage of trademarks from clients. Our experience is that Google promptly satisfies our requests. We only file a request if it is reasonable and if there is a registered trademark right in place. Our serice is called Google Brush. Ask one of our lawyers for further information.

    The Japanese creators of  the rabbit “Kathy” must appear in court. Kathy shows many similarities with the Dutch rabbit Miffy created by Dick Bruna. Since last year Sanrio, known from Hello Kitty, produces products with “Kathy”. Bruna finds it an infringement of copyright.
