Neeltje de Gruyter, LL.M.
was born in Haarlem. She studied
Architecture in Antwerp and Law at the university of Amsterdam.
In addition to this, she also studied
European Law at the Sorbonne in Paris, and completed a traineeship at solicitor's office SOLV. in Amsterdam.
It was with great pleasure that she
wrote her thesis with Professor
J.J.C. Kabel. The subject discussed was
the extent to which Dutch judges will
take market research into consideration
in their verdict on likelihood of
confusion in trademark disputes, such
as the one about the trademarks PEPSI and IPSEI.
Part of her thesis was published in IER 2006-5 (Vitakraft/BHIM).

It goes without saying that de Merkplaats will make the
most of her know-how!
Neeltje has a passion for French language and culture, she is a
keen photographer and likes to climb big rocks.
