During the annual Horecava (the Netherlands’ biggest hospitality trade fair and the meeting point for hospitality professionals) in RAI Amsterdam, the petition ‘Overal Kraanwater graag’ (Tap Water Everywhere, Please) was presented by our client Vitens to Martijn Naberman of Tio University of Applied Sciences Amsterdam. Moreover, Vitens was present at Horecava with a large ‘Kraanwater Graag®’ (Tap Water, Please) stand to promote the importance of tap water.
Although the Netherlands is known as the country with the best tap water in the world, we often hear a ‘no’ when ordering a glass of tap water in hotels, cafés, restaurants, bars etc. The aim of this petition is to change this situation. By now it has been signed by over 105,000 people and gained the support of many Dutch celebrities and of Dopper®, also a client of De Merkplaats. The lawyers at De Merkplaats are major advocates of free tap water in the hospitality sector and they already signed the petition last June. In 2014 our director Alphons Geerlings was interviewed by the newspaper Het Financieel Dagblad about the importance of drinking tap water. And of course we were there when the petition was presented, while enjoying a great glass of tap water.
De Merkplaats congratulates our client Vitens on the major success of this petition!
